Design, coordination, BIM modelling and construction of a 100,000 sq. ft. 3-story new all electric building composed of faculty offices, classrooms, Auditorium, and indoor arboretum on the California State University, Chico campus.
Our preconstruction and engineering team worked closely with the University staff to develop the design and budget to balance the priorities of first cost, energy efficiency, safe operation, reliability, and service access.
- Rooftop DOAS serving zone level radiant panels, sensible cooling terminal units (SCTUs) and Chilled Beams distribution to SCTUs and Chilled Beams
- HHW hydronics served by an Air Source Heat Pump with pumped distribution
- CHW system served by campus loop with building pumped distribution
- CHW feeding Heat Exchanger generating MCHW with pumped distribution
- Heat Pump Electric Water Heater for domestic water system
We utilized several different strategies for prefabricated systems, delivering large sections of supply and exhaust shaft ductwork to shorten on-site construction durations. Core restroom plumbing walls were modularized and prefabricated to reduce installation duration.
